Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal are at the center of one of the most exciting individual battles in European football. The Real Madrid striker and Barcelona's young superstar have made impressive starts to the season, although their statistics highlight different strengths: Mbappé stands out for his goalscoring ability, while Yamal combines goals and assists to make a difference in attack.
But who has scored more goals in the 2026-2027 season? Both players have made 11 appearances across all competitions, but the French forward has the edge over the Spanish star in terms of goals scored.
Mbappé Leads Lamine Yamal in Goals
Kylian Mbappé has scored 11 goals and provided 2 assists in 11 appearances for Real Madrid this season. The French striker is averaging one goal per game and continues to establish himself as one of the Spanish club's most important attacking players.
In LaLiga, Mbappé has scored nine goals and provided two assists in nine appearances. In the Champions League, he has netted twice in two matches, demonstrating his effectiveness in both domestic and European competitions.
These numbers highlight his ability to find the back of the net and make the difference in crucial moments.
Lamine Yamal Shines with Goals and Assists
Lamine Yamal, meanwhile, has played 11 matches for Barcelona, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists. Although he has scored two fewer goals than Mbappé, the Spanish international stands out for his ability to create chances and contribute to his team's attacking play.
In LaLiga, Yamal has recorded eight goals and six assists in nine appearances. In the Champions League, he has scored once and provided four assists in two matches.
His influence on Barcelona's attack goes far beyond scoring. His vision, dribbling ability and creativity make him a key player in the Catalan side's offensive system.
Who Has the Better LaLiga Statistics?
In Spain's top division, Mbappé also holds a slight advantage in terms of goals scored.
The Real Madrid striker has scored nine goals in nine matches, compared with Yamal's eight goals in the same number of appearances. However, the Barcelona star has provided six assists, four more than his French rival.
Mbappé therefore stands out for his finishing ability, while Yamal offers a broader attacking contribution by combining goals with assists in LaLiga.
What About the Champions League?
In Europe's premier club competition, Mbappé has scored two goals in two matches, while Lamine Yamal has found the net once in the same number of appearances.
However, the Barcelona star has excelled in chance creation, providing four assists in his two European outings. According to the available statistics, Mbappé has not recorded an assist in the Champions League.
These figures highlight two different attacking profiles: the Frenchman excels as a finisher, while the Spaniard combines goalscoring ability with an exceptional capacity to create opportunities for his teammates.
Mbappé vs Lamine Yamal: Who Has Contributed to More Goals?
When goals and assists are combined, Lamine Yamal comes out ahead of Kylian Mbappé.
The Barcelona star has recorded 19 goal contributions, thanks to his nine goals and ten assists. The Real Madrid forward has registered 13, with 11 goals and two assists.
That gives Yamal a six-contribution advantage, underlining his remarkable influence on Barcelona's attacking play.
These statistics alone do not determine which player is better, but they illustrate the different ways in which the two stars influence matches and make an impact on the pitch.
